food coma
i'm suffering from a food coma right now. i had a tuna melt w/pita and french fries from gourmet 53 in the basement of 875 third ave. everytime i go down to that cafeteria to grab food i always see these huge throngs of young people in their business attire hanging out and talking. makes me miss going to the ratty and having meals with people. if you don't know already, i eat lunch by myself at my desk everyday. sometimes i join the it people on my floor who i don't work with directly but talk to every so often about computer issues, but that happens maybe once every two weeks. i always get like this every couple of weeks.

so i had a pretty fun weekend.

friday -- went to time warner building and saw a free jazz performance by marcus miller (an awesome bassist) at the borders there. then wandered around the mall there, which is super swank and no one of right mind would ever shop there. however, there's a grocery store in the basement which for some odd reason was packed on a friday night! imagine... a grocery store in the city full of people on a friday night. and there was a jamba juice there! and the workers were all cheery like they were west-coast or something... it was like i was in an alternate universe. i had a mango a-go-go as usual with an immunity boost.

saturday -- slept late and got lots of good sleep. went out at night with friends and met up with a bunch of brown people i haven't seen for a while. went to a place called republic in union square which had noodles and techno. then afterwards saw robot stories at cinema village on 12th bet. 5th + university. GREAT movie! it was split into 4 short stories so satisfied my adhd side, and was fun to watch. definitely worthwhile to see. oh did i mention it was directed by an asian-american? after the movie, went to eat at a place called rice to riches. they have like 30 different flavors of rice pudding! i had chocolate-hazelnut. not bad. then afterwards went to a place called mission. packed bar and loud. unfortunately had to wake up early so i only stayed for a few...

sunday -- woke up at 7:30am and went to harlem to do habitat for humanity! built a look-through out of wood and metal beams. i learned how to cut and "nip" metal, as well as screw wood into metal properly. it was fun. did it with my group ypnyc. afterwards took a nap and saw the series finale of sex in the city (yes! i watch sex in the city ok)... so abso-fuckin predictable.

ok back to work!
